Ole Jacob Person new board member
On 16 May 2025 Ole Jacob Person was elected new board member. He was wholeheartedly welcomed by the entire board. Ole Jacob has over 30 years of experience within operational maritime shipping and offshore from a broad range of shipping companies such as Höegh, Teekay, DNV, Awilco and Klaveness Marine. He is a naval architect from NTNU and has done an executive development programme at London Business School.

Ole Jacob has both the technical background combined with a commercial orientation from different ship owning roles, and serves now as head of Pareto Maritime Services AS, working within the shipping and offshore project finance team in Pareto Securities.
He has been a member through his various employees of Bulkforum, which was our name from 1981 until 2013, later Shipping & Offshore Network, since the 1990s. He has always looked upon our association as a very interesting network where he has met peers within this fascinating industry.
– In order to motivate others to become members, support the new young ones entering shipping and offshore companies, and pay back some of these valuable years, I was rather keen to contribute to the work of the association and so I said yes to a board position when this was offered to me. The work is challenging, but also very motivating, working with the other very competent board members. I believe we have a great opportunity to continue the success of Shipping & Offshore Network’s activities, and I’m eager to contribute to growing the association and set new directions in the ever evolving shipping & offshore industry, says Ole Jacob.
– Board members of Shipping & Offshore Network have always been representatives from the marine industry and services, shipping and cargo owners. Well-educated and experienced custodians of the versatile marine industry bring capabilities and motivation to the networking effort and board initiatives of our association. People with stature and esteem are always welcome to Shipping & Offshore Network and particularly to the Board of Directors. Very recently, such a person, namely Ole Jacob Person, joined the Board. We welcome him on board, says Dr Per Olaf Brett, our long serving Chair of the Board.
